§ 51.056 SAND TRAPS FOR WASH RACKS; GREASE TRAPS FOR COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS; REQUIRED.
   Every garage, both public and private, every filling station and every other place within the town limits of the town which contains a washrack of any description or other washing facility which is used for the purpose of, or is ever used for, washing motor vehicles of any kind whatsoever, or other commercial washing operation which is connected to the sanitary sewer system of the town, and any commercial business establishment within the town’s limits, such as, but not limited to, restaurants and retail business establishments operating and maintaining food processing facilities generating or utilizing fat or grease, whether of animal or other source, intended to be disposed by and through the town’s sanitary sewer system, shall establish and maintain a sand or mud trap in connection with such washrack or washing facility or a grease trap in connection with such commercial establishment. Such trap shall be so located as to catch sand, mud, grease and other matter washed from motor vehicles or grease from commercial business establishments as referenced above and to prevent the same from getting into the town’s sewer system and shall be built in compliance with the plans and specifications as prepared by the Maintenance Supervisor of the town or the town’s Engineer, the size thereof to be not less than five cubic feet in volume.
