(A) The Village Engineer shall be responsible for the design and construction inspection of all public improvements financed, in whole or part, by village funds, special assessment, motor fuel tax or any other public funds; review and approval of all subdivision plats and plans for public improvement and for all construction thereof; maintenance of a current and complete set of maps showing the exact location of all water, storm and sanitary sewer and streets; review and joint approval with the Director of Fire and Building of all commercial, industrial and residential site improvements, including, but not limited to, water main, storm and sanitary sewer, parking lot, lighting, landscaping, pavement and drainage improvements.
(B) The Village Engineer shall also render advice, counsel and recommendations to the Village Manager and board of Trustees regarding the maintenance of all public buildings and facilities, street layout, utility extensions, drainage improvements, traffic engineering, utilization of public lands and general planning of village development, and other general engineering matters as may be assigned.
