Individuals appointed to the following positions subsequent to the adoption of this section shall be required to establish residency within the village within one year of appointment: Village Manager, Police Chief, Director of Fire and Building and Director of Public Works. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, the Board shall have the right to waive the residency requirement for a particular position where it finds that specific hiring, employment or retention circumstances warrant such a waiver.
