§ 71.12 FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLE; FIRES.
   Upon the approach of a Fire Department vehicle, drivers of vehicles shall comply with the provisions of § 71.20 relating to the approach of authorized emergency vehicles.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than one on official business, to follow any fire apparatus in response to a fire alarm, closer than one block, or to park any vehicle within the block where fire apparatus has stopped to answer the fire alarm. It shall be further unlawful for the driver of the vehicle to drive over any unprotected hose of the Fire Department without the consent of the Fire Marshal or assistant in command.
   (B)   All motorized firefighting equipment operating by gasoline motor power is hereby given and shall have at all times the right-of way preference to any and all other vehicles, whether horse drawn or motor vehicles, while driving or being driven on any street or crossing any street within the corporate limits of the city.
   (C)   It shall be the duty of all drivers or operators of vehicles to observe the traffic regulation and right-of-way preference for firefighting equipment, provided by division (B) above.
