The “extension fee” required by this chapter is a fee collected for the purpose of having each sewer service connection applicant pay a proportional part of the cost of providing the main and interceptor sewers required to collect sewage from lateral sewers and service connections and convey the sewage to the treatment plant, and is not intended to pay for lateral sewers constructed for the primary purpose of accepting sewage from service connections, accumulating the sewage and conveying it to the main and interceptor sewers.
