§ 50.02 ACTIVITIES ON, IN OR NEAR PUBLIC UTILITIES.
   (A)   Purpose. To protect the public utilities of the township and to regulate the use thereof and all activities to be carried on in or near the public utilities.
   (B)   Adoption. No person, firm or employee thereof, except an authorized employee of the township, shall turn on or off any water hydrant or water line valve, whether the same be located in the public right-of-way or any other place in the township.
   (C)   Civil responsibility. Any person, firm or corporation who violates the provisions of this section and shall cause any damage to the water line, fire hydrant or water meter, or any part of the township water system, shall be legally responsible in civil damages for any damage arising as a result of the violation of this section.
   (D)   Effective date. This section shall be effective 30 days from and after publication thereof.
