7-2-10: CONTROL OF ACCESSORIES PLACED ON CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT SIDEWALKS:
   A.   Accessories; Approval: The Knoxville downtown streetscape program has established an architectural and design standard for accessories to be located on sidewalks within the Central Business Districts. Such accessories are defined as, but not limited to, benches, trash receptacles, and planters. No accessory shall be placed on a sidewalk within the Central Business District without prior approval of the City of Knoxville Streetscape Committee.
   B.   Request For Placement Of Accessories: Central Business District owners or businesses wishing to have an accessory placed on the sidewalk in front of their location shall request such placement through the City of Knoxville Streetscape Committee. The request can be made with or without promise of donation by the business to defray costs of such placement but the Streetscape Committee reserves judgment in any case as to whether such accessory is warranted at the requested location.
   C.   Request Specifications: Businesses wishing to place an accessory of their own purchase on a Central Business District sidewalk shall first submit a request, complete with drawings, photographs, or renderings of the accessory, complete with specifications, to the Streetscape Committee.
   D.   Penalty: Any violation of this section shall be considered a Municipal infraction as provided for in title 1, chapter 4 of this Code. (Ord. 11-03, 5-2-2011)
