7-2-5: PERMIT FEE AND MAINTENANCE BOND:
No permit shall be granted under this chapter until the applicant has paid to the City an inspection fee of fifty dollars ($50.00), to be applied toward cost of inspecting the manner in which any hole or opening is filled and closed by the applicant, and also until the applicant has furnished the City a maintenance bond to secure to the City that the closing of the opening in the City street will be kept in good repair for a period of four (4) years after the approval of the opening. The maintenance bond for contractors whose principal place of business is in Marion County, Iowa, and for public utility who have been granted a franchise by the City shall be in the form of a personal surety bond made out to the City in an amount equal to the full cost of repairing this opening. The maintenance bond for all others shall be in the form of a corporate surety bond, cash deposit or escrow agreement made out to the City in an amount equal to the full cost of repairing this opening.
