Any person who shall carry on his/her person any concealed weapon shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, except that this provision shall not apply to police officers or other persons whose duty is to execute process or warrants or make arrests, or others having permits to carry concealed weapons pursuant to Iowa Code, section 724.4. (Ord. 424, 11-5-1951; amd. 1996 Code)
A. Garbage And Refuse: It shall be unlawful for any person to burn or cause to be burned outside of a building any garbage or refuse other than dry leaves or twigs and branches with a diameter not to exceed three inches (3").
B. Leaves And Branches:
1. Person In Attendance: It shall be unlawful for any person to burn or cause to be burned outside of a building dry leaves or twigs and branches with a diameter not to exceed three inches (3") unless there is a person in attendance during such burning with a suitably attached water hose capable of quenching the fire in case it should start to spread.
2. Burning On Streets Or Alleys: The burning of leaves or other material on any of the streets or alleys, including paved streets or alleys, or in grader ditches, adjoining the traveled portion of such streets or alleys, is hereby prohibited.
3. Adjoining Landowners: It shall be unlawful for any person to burn or cause to be burned outside of a building any dry leaves or twigs and branches with a diameter not to exceed three inches (3") not owned or generated by the owner of the property where the burning occurs; except, adjoining landowners may burn said leaves or branches together. No person shall knowingly or wilfully resist or oppose the police chief or the city police officers, or any other peace officer or any person authorized by law, in serving or attempting to execute any legal writ, rule, order or process whatsoever or resist any such officer in the discharge of the officer's duties without such writ, rule order or process. (Ord. 441, 1-18-1954)
It shall be unlawful for any person to tack or place any sign, cardboard or foreign substance upon or paint any sign upon, or deface in any manner any post, telegraph, telephone or fence post, tree or other private or public property without the permission of the owner thereof 1 .
