6-2-2: TRAINING STANDARDS:
   A.   Initial Training: The Chief of Police of the Police Department shall establish minimum initial training standards requiring at least thirty (30) hours of instruction for members of the reserve force. Upon satisfactory completion of training, the Chief of Police shall certify the individual as a reserve peace officer. Initial training shall be completed within one year from the date of appointment. The training standards established by the Chief of Police shall be approved by the Council of the City.    B.   Additional Training: During the second through fourth year, forty (40) hours of training shall be provided each year, including ten (10) hours working with a regular officer. (1996 Code)
