4-4-11: STANDARDS OF DISPOSAL AT THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT:
Disposal of wastes to the wastewater treatment plant shall be carried out in accordance with pretreatment standards and requirements established by federal, state and city governments including categorical standards developed for the waste generator's industrial category. The administrator may reject wastes from waste haulers that do not comply with this section or with any other provision of this chapter. Waste haulers shall not deliver wastes to the Knoxville wastewater treatment plant that:
   A.   Exceed the limits found in Knoxville city ordinances, except for suspended solids and BOD5 as approved by the city 1 ;
   B.   Are hazardous waste as defined in 40 CFR part 261 or chapter 131 of the Iowa Code; (Ord. 92-2, 5-18-1992)
   C.   Originate from sand traps, such as those located in car, truck, and trailer washes, which primarily remove sand and dirt;
   D.   Originate from mineral oil and grease traps such as those located at vehicle maintenance facilities;
   E.   Originate from an animal confinement facility; (Ord. 92-2, 5-18-1992; amd. 1996 Code)
   F.   Are not completely identified or are from industrial/commercial sources that are not approved by the administrator;
   G.   Are mixed in a manner prohibited in section 4-4-10 of this chapter;
   H.   Are wastes other than residential from outside city limits, except through requests to the administrator in emergency situations.
   I.   Are wastes which originate outside the Marion County boundary lines. (Ord. 92-2, 5-18-1992)
