§ 151.37  CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS FOR OPEN CHANNELS.
   (A)   Construction. Specifications shall be in keeping with the current standards of engineering and construction practice and shall describe the requirements for proper installation of the project to achieve its intended purpose without damage to either on or off-site facilities.
   (B)   Materials.
      (1)   Materials acceptable for use as channel slope protection are:
         (a)   Vegetation;
         (b)   Revetment riprap;
         (c)   Concrete, formed and poured;
         (d)   Hand-laid riprap;
         (e)   Precast cement concrete riprap/ slope paving materials;
         (f)   Grouted riprap; and
         (g)   Gabions.
      (2)   Other lining materials shall receive special approval of the Board. Materials shall comply with the latest edition of the State Department of Highways Standard Specifications, and shall have no detrimental effects on storm water flow, the environment or fish and wildlife. Refuse materials such as bricks, blocks, broken concrete and other rubble shall not be used as lining materials unless specifically approved by the Board.
