§ 75.05 STORAGE OF INOPERABLE MOTOR VEHICLES.
   (A)   All inoperable motor vehicles, whether on public or private property and in view of the general public, are hereby declared to be a nuisance. A fine as set forth in Chapter 10, Appendix A of this code shall be levied upon the failure of any person to obey a notice received from the village which states that the person is to dispose of any inoperable motor vehicle under his or her control. Upon the failure of any person to remove any inoperable motor vehicle or parts thereof within seven days of the issuance of the notice from the village to remove the same, the Village of Kirkland Police Department shall be authorized to remove the inoperable motor vehicle or parts thereof and charge the cost for doing so to that person.
   (B)   Nothing in this section shall apply to any motor vehicle that is kept within a building when not in use, to operable historic vehicles over 25 years of age, or to a motor vehicle on the premises of a place of business engaged in the wrecking or junking of motor vehicles.
