§ 50.30 OPEN FIRES.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful to burn paper or other combustible refuse, waste, rubbish, garbage or any other material except wood in any open fire or burn barrel. Leaves may be burned between March 1 and April 30 and between September 15 and December 15 of each year between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The burning of leaves is prohibited on the hard surface or asphalt portion of any street, curb, gutter or alley. Leaf fires shall be supervised by an adult at all times. The Police Department is authorized to prohibit, stop, cause or order any fire be extinguished if it determines that due to the size, location, wind or other atmospheric conditions, it poses a threat to the safety of persons or property. The provisions of this section shall not apply to yard waste burned by the village.
   (B)   Recreational fires supervised by an adult and contained in a fire-safe vessel or pit not exceeding 24 inches in diameter and of similar duration of a small campfire are permitted, but may be limited or stopped by the Police Department as set forth above.
