§ 32.23 POLICE TO SELL RECOVERED PERSONAL PROPERTY.
   (A)   This section shall apply to all bicycles, cameras, electronic equipment, office machines, watches, clocks, jewelry and other items of personal property which may be recovered by the Police Department in connection with the performance of its duties, or turned in to the Department, and shall be referred to herein as personal property.
   (B)   All personal property which has been lost, stolen or abandoned and which is in the possession of the Department shall be disposed of by the Police Chief, or an officer appointed by him, if such property remains unclaimed by the owner. If the owner is unknown, it shall be sold at public auction after duly posting of public notice of same at least 15 days prior to such sale. The notice shall contain time, place and terms of the sale and a description of the property to be sold.
   (C)   The proceeds from the sale of all unclaimed personal property shall be paid into the General Fund, on the day of sale.
