Pursuant to the provisions of G.S. §§ 160D-1201 through 160D-1212, and as provided generally in § 150.01, the State Building Code, as may be amended, one copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted as the housing code of the city; provided that, if any provision, standard or requirement of this chapter is found to be in conflict with any other section of this chapter or any provision of any other city ordinance, the provision which establishes the higher standard or more stringent requirement for the promotion and protection of the health and safety of the residents of the city shall prevail.
