§ 130.04 FIREARMS; CONCEALED WEAPONS.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot or to fire any pistol, gun or other firearm within the city, except on firing ranges or in legally established shooting galleries or ranges, or in the discharge of duty by law enforcement officers, or a special events sponsored by the city, or as may be authorized and approved by the Chief of Police for the city.

   (B)   (1)   Except as provided herein, all persons are prohibited from possessing and/or carrying a concealed handgun while being upon property owned by the city or under its control; accepting as may be set out in G.S. § 14-269(B) and further as may be permitted under G.S. § 14-415.11.
      (2)   Weapons which are seized from persons found to be possessing concealed handguns while on property owned by the city or under its control, are hereby declared to be contraband. The Chief of Police for the city or his or her designee or designees shall cause a confiscation of the weapons and that it shall be held for disposal pursuant to court order or as otherwise by law may be provided.
      (3)   A notice shall be conspicuously posted at the entrance to any properties which are owned by the city or under its control, stating that possession of weapons or concealed handguns is prohibited.
