A. Definition: A "U-turn" means a turn by which a vehicle reverses its course of travel on the same street.
B. Prohibited Acts: No person shall make a U-turn at the following locations:
1. Any place other than an intersection or a median opening;
2. Intersections where traffic control signals are installed, except where an official "U-Turn Allowed" sign has been erected and is maintained for the direction signed;
3. Intersections where an official "No U-Turn" sign has been erected and is maintained for the direction signed; and
4. Intersections where no left turns are specifically prohibited for the direction signed.
C. Penalty: Any person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, there shall be imposed punishment as provided in section 7-1-7 of this chapter. (Ord. 878, 5-13-2002; amd. 2013 Code)
