The purpose of the utility advisory board is to advise the city council concerning matters as directed by the city council which may include the fees, charges, and finances for the utilities which the city provides to its residents. The utility advisory board may invite residents of the city to meetings and if deemed appropriate hold public hearings to obtain input from the residents of the city. (Res. 263, 2011)
A. The board shall be comprised of five (5) persons appointed by the mayor of the city of Kimberly subject to confirmation by city council. The members shall be residents of the city of Kimberly.
B. The term of the initial appointed persons shall be as designated by the mayor. Future members shall serve for a term of three (3) years. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment of the mayor to complete an unexpired term. A vacancy may be declared by the board when a member is unable to attend to the duties of the board. A member may succeed to a second consecutive full term. (Res. 263, 2011)
A. The board shall meet at least quarterly. Proceedings shall comply with the open meeting laws of the state of Idaho.
B. Special meetings may be called by the chairperson, or at the request of two (2) members of the board. Notice stating the time, place and purpose of any special meetings shall be given to each member at least two (2) days in advance of the meeting. No business other than that stated in the notice shall be transacted at the meeting. (Res. 263, 2011)
