A. Installation permits. If cross-connection control devices are found to be necessary, the owner of the property served shall apply to the purveyor for a specific installation permit prior to installation thereof. If additions are made to the private service line such as underground sprinkling systems, or other additions, the owner of the property shall apply to the purveyor for a specific installation permit prior to installation thereof.
B. Cessation of water service. In the event an improper cross-connection is not corrected or a failed device is not replaced with a fully operable backflow device within ten (10) days or sooner as deemed necessary by the Public Works Director or, in the event the purveyor is refused access to the property for the purpose of determining whether or not cross-connections exist, or if a cross connection control device is not installed on the premises delivery of water to the property shall cease until the deficiency is corrected to the maintenance supervisor's satisfaction. In addition, the purveyor may affect the necessary repairs or modifications at the expense of the property owner and refuse delivery of water to the property until the costs thereof shall have been paid.
