A. No water shall be delivered to a new structure of six thousand or more square feet in area until the maintenance supervisor has received and approved the mechanical plans and a list of plumbing materials to be used, and a permit for installation has been issued, nor to any building of lesser size without a visual inspection by the maintenance supervisor prior to sheetrock and insulation installation, but after all preliminary plumbing has been done. This is required for preliminary cross-connection inspection approval.
B. Construction for industrial or other purposes which is classified as hazardous facilities pursuant to Section 13.04.270 of this ordinance, where it is reasonable to anticipate intermittent cross-connections, as determined by the maintenance supervisor, shall be protected by the installation of one or more approved backflow prevention devices at the point of service from the municipal water system or another location designated by the maintenance supervisor.
C. Inspections shall be made periodically of all buildings, structures, or improvements of any nature now receiving water through the municipal water system, for the purpose of ascertaining whether cross-connections exist. Such inspections shall be made by the maintenance supervisor. (Ord. 595, 2012; Ord. 661, 2020)
