All applications for building permits shall include a request for temporary water service, with a date of expiration not to exceed six (6) months from the date of application. The applicant may request an extension of the six (6) month expiration, upon approval by the building inspection department. The temporary service may be converted to permanent status upon issuance of an occupancy permit and payment of the current water service charges. If there has been no extension of the temporary service period or conversion of the temporary service to permanent service at the end of the temporary status, water service shall be terminated.
