A. The failure to remove snow or ice as provided in this article, is declared to be a public nuisance, detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare. In the event any owner, tenant or occupant of premises abutting or adjoining a sidewalk within the city fails to remove snow or ice as provided in this article, within three (3) days after notice in writing signed by either the chief of police, city clerk or mayor, such owner, tenant or occupant shall forthwith remove the snow or ice and if such is not removed, the city may take appropriate action as set forth in this article.
B. The notice as provided in this section may be served personally or by certified mail, return receipt requested, addressed to the tenant or occupant or owner, or any one of them.
C. The responsibilities established by this article shall be joint and several for the owners, occupants or tenants. (Ord. 410 § 3, 1985)
