§ 72.01 PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES.
   (A)   No person shall park or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended upon the paved or main traveled portion of any highway or street within the corporate limits of the town where such parked vehicle creates or constitutes a traffic hazard or obstructs or may obstruct the movement of any emergency vehicle or obstructs or may obstruct the flow of traffic on any portion of the roadway unless such vehicle is disabled to such an extent that it is impossible to avoid stopping and temporarily leaving the vehicle upon the paved or main traveled portion of the highway, bridge or street.
   (B)   Additionally, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, attended or unattended, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device in any of the following places:
      (1)   On any sidewalk or multi-purpose recreational trail within the town;
      (2)   Within an intersection;
      (3)   In front of a private driveway;
      (4)   On a crosswalk;
      (5)   Within 30 feet of any flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic-control signal located at the side of a street or roadway;
      (6)   Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when such stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic;
      (7)   Upon any bridge or other elevated structure;
      (8)   Within 15 feet in either direction of the entrance to a hotel, theater, public building or fire station or other public building;
      (9)   Within 25 feet from the intersection or curbline, or, if none, then within 15 feet of the intersection of property lines at an intersection of highways or streets;
      (10)   Within 20 feet of either side of a fire hydrant.
