§ 70.084 DUTY TO STOP UPON APPROACH OF AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE.
   Upon the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle making use of audible and visual signals meeting the requirements of § 70.004, or of a police vehicle properly and lawfully making use of an audible signal only, the driver of every other vehicle shall immediately drive to a position as near as possible and parallel to the right-hand edge or curb of the highway, or in case of a 1-way highway the nearest edge or curb, clear of any intersection of highways, and shall stop and remain in the position, unless otherwise directed by a police or traffic officer, until the authorized emergency vehicle shall have passed. This section shall not operate to relieve the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle from the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons using the highway, nor shall it protect the driver of any vehicle from the consequences of his or her reckless disregard for the safety of others.
