§ 70.077 POLICE INITIATED DETOURS.
   The Chief of Police may cause markers, buttons or signs to be placed within or adjacent to intersections and thereby require and direct that a different course from that specified in this section be traveled by vehicles turning at the intersection, and when markers, buttons or signs are so placed, no driver of a vehicle shall turn a vehicle at an intersection other than as directed and required by the markers, buttons or signs. No signs or buttons shall be placed upon any state highway without the approval of the State Highway Commission, and when an intersection is so constructed and laid out that different and clearly defined courses of travel are provided for vehicles turning to the left or right, as the case may be, it shall be lawful for any driver in making any turn to follow the course thereby indicated.
