The City Clerk shall perform all the duties which may now or from time to time hereafter be required of him by law and the provisions of this code. He shall collect and receive all the moneys and revenues of every kind and from every source due or payable to the city except only such as are by law required to be paid directly to the City Treasurer. He shall once in each week collect all officers or persons, all money received by such officer for and on behalf of the city. Collections to be deposited to the credit of the City Treasurer in the General Fund of the city; and a report of such deposits shall be made to the City Treasurer on the last day of each month, showing the accounts on which such money was collected. He shall give to each and every person paying money to him a receipt showing the amount paid and on what account such payment was made. He shall draw and attest all warrants on the City Treasurer in pursuance of any ordinance, resolution or order of the Council.
