§ 31.004 APPOINTIVE OFFICERS; TERMS OF OFFICE.
   (A)   All officers appointed by the Mayor or any of the Commissioners, whose terms of office are not otherwise expressly provided by law or ordinance, shall hold their respective offices for the term of one year from May 1 preceding their appointment and until their successors are appointed and have qualified.

   (B)   Appointments by Mayor. The Mayor, with the approval and consent of the City Council, shall appoint the following: the City Clerk, the City Treasurer, the City Attorney, the Plumbing Inspector, the Electrical Inspector, the City Engineer, the Chief of Police, the Chief of the Fire Department, the Emergency Services and Disaster Agency Coordinator, the Cemetery Board of Managers, the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, the Plan Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Police Pension Board.
