§ 33.052 POWERS, DUTIES AND PROCEDURES.
   The Board of Appeals shall hear and decide appeals from and review any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official charged with the enforcement of any ordinance relating to zoning adopted by the village pursuant to the statute in that case made and provided; and shall hear requests for variations to relieve properties from practical difficulties or particular hardship imposed by the strict letter of the provisions or regulations of ordinances relating to the use, construction or alteration of buildings or structures, or the use of land, and grant or deny the variations requested, and may recommend the alteration or change of provisions of the zoning ordinance or regulations in specific cases properly coming before it; and the Board of Appeals shall exercise all the powers and discharge the duties now and which may from time to time hereafter be provided by statute of the state and by ordinance of the village; provided, however, that nothing herein contained shall be construed to alter or change the zoning ordinances. These powers and duties shall be exercised and performed in accordance with procedures specified in the statutes and ordinances, but the Board of Appeals may adopt its own rules of procedure not in conflict with the statutes or ordinances.
