Before entering upon the duties of his or her appointment or employment, every member of the Police Department shall take and subscribe to the oath of office prescribed by law, but bond shall be required only of the Chief of Police and lieutenants. Bond where required shall be conditioned as provided by law and in an amount as is from time to time determined by ordinance or resolution of the Village Board.
