(A) Position created. There is hereby created the Office of Building Commissioner, an administrative office of the village. The Village Manager, or his or her designee, shall serve as Building Commissioner, unless some other person is appointed to the position by the Village Board.
(B) Oath and bond of Commissioner. Before entering upon the duties of his or her office, the Building Commissioner shall take the oath of office prescribed by statute, and furnish a bond determined from time to time by ordinance or resolution of the Village Board.
(C) Powers and duties. The Building Commissioner shall enforce, or cause to be enforced, the building and construction regulations, the zoning ordinance, and all laws and ordinances pertaining to his or her Department, and shall have any other duties as the Village Board may from time to time prescribe.
