There shall be six Trustees of the village, each of whom shall be elected to office for a four-year term and until his or her successors are elected and have qualified as is provided by statute. The terms shall be staggered such that the terms of one-half of the Trustees shall be subject to election every two years. The Trustees shall perform such duties and have such powers as may be authorized by statute.
