Upon termination of his or her incumbency in office, every elected officer of the village shall deliver to his or her successor all books, records and property that belong to the village or he or she has received in his or her official capacity. If no successor is appointed within five days after the termination of the incumbency, the books, records and property shall be delivered to the Village Clerk.
