Any license or permit, excepting permits for building construction, may be revoked by any officer authorized to issue same for any violation of the terms and conditions upon which it is issued, or of the provisions of this code or of any ordinance relating to the license or permit; and it shall be unlawful to continue to operate any business, trade or occupation, or to continue to exercise any privilege or authority granted by any license or permit after the period for which it was issued has expired or after any license or permit has been revoked.
