§ 91.083 REDEMPTION FROM POUND; IMPOUNDING FEES.
   (A)   The owner or keeper of any animal which is impounded pursuant to this chapter may redeem the animal unless it is found to be suffering from rabies or is otherwise required to remain impounded. The poundmaster shall collect from the owner or keeper of an impounded animal:
      (1)   An amount as established in the annual fee ordinance for the cost of impounding for the first offense in any period of 12 consecutive calendar months, an amount as established in the annual fee ordinance for the second offense in any period of 12 consecutive calendar months, an amount as established in the annual fee ordinance for the third offense in any period of 12 consecutive calendar months, in an amount as established in the annual fee ordinance for the fourth offense in any period of 12 consecutive calendar months and an amount as established in the annual fee ordinance for each and every additional offense occurring within 12 consecutive calendar months after a first or previous offense;
      (2)   The amount of the license fee, if any, for the current year, if the fee has not previously been paid; and
      (3)   The cost of impoundment services and the cost of caring for the animal during the time it is impounded.
   (B)   The poundmaster shall account for and pay to the Village Collector all moneys received under this chapter and shall receive no compensation unless otherwise provided by the Board of Trustees.
