§ 91.063 ANIMALS BITING OTHER ANIMALS.
   Any animal which has rabies, and any animal bitten by an animal having rabies, is hereby declared to be a nuisance, and the animal may be impounded and quarantined. It shall be the duty of the person owning or in possession or custody of the animal to surrender it to any police officer or other authorized officer or agent of the village upon demand. Any animal which has rabies may be put to death at the direction of the Chief of Police. In the event any animal which has been bitten by another is impounded as provided in this section, that animal may be quarantined for a period of time as the Chief of Police deems necessary in order to determine whether it has rabies.
