§ 71.01 THROUGH STREET STOPS.
   The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to designate, with the approval of the Board of Trustees, by proper official signs, any street or portion thereof as a through highway and requiring that all vehicles stop before entering the same, or designating any intersection as a stop intersection and requiring all vehicles to stop at one or more entrances to the intersection. No vehicle shall be driven into or upon streets or intersections where a sign has been erected, without first being brought to a full stop before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or if there is no crosswalk, before entering the intersection.
