§ 57.03 EXCAVATIONS AND GAS PIPES NOT TO INJURE TREES OR SHRUBS.
   In making excavations in streets, parkways or other public places, care shall be taken to avoid injury to the trees, shrubs or roots thereof, and any person maintaining any gas pipe in the village shall, in the absence of provision in the franchise or authority concerning the subject, keep the gas pipe free from leaks so that no injury shall be done to any tree or shrub.
