§ 55.045 LICENSE REQUIRED; FEE AND BOND.
   No person shall engage in the business of constructing or repairing sidewalks in any public street or place in the village without first having obtained a license therefor; provided that this requirement shall not apply to any person desiring to lay a sidewalk in front or at the side of property owned by him or her. A fee as established in the annual fee ordinance shall be paid by a person required by this subchapter to secure a license. The license shall not issue until the person to be licensed shall deposit with the Village Clerk, on a form furnished by the village, a bond in the penal sum of an amount as established in the annual fee ordinance, with surety to be approved by the Village Manager and conditioned to indemnify, save and keep harmless the village from any and all loss, cost, expense or liability of any kind whatsoever which it may suffer or be put to or which may be recovered from it by reason of the issuance of the license or by reason of any act or thing done or neglected to be done under or by virtue of the authority given to the licensee.
