§ 55.016 LAWN SPRINKLING SYSTEMS.
No lawn sprinkling system shall be installed until plans have been submitted to the Village Manager and approved by the Director of Public Works Superintendent of Water, and a permit has been issued for the installation. Where separate meters are to be furnished for the systems, the meters shall be located in the public street right-of-way and shall be considered as separate consumers. Shut-off valves shall be provided near the meter on the main distributing pipe and also on each branch. All water distribution pipes shall be laid to grade and shall drain to the main shut-off valve or shall be equipped with automatic drain valves so that the entire system may be emptied. Lawn sprinkling systems installed in the public parkway, whether permanent or movable, shall be so placed and operated as not to interfere with the free use of the parkway, street pavement or sidewalk for public purposes.
