(A) Handicapped parking spaces.
(1) HANDICAPPED shall be defined as set forth in G.S. § 20-37.5(2), as that provision hereafter may be amended from time to time.
(2) It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing any vehicle in a space designated for handicapped of visually impaired persons when the vehicle does not display the distinguishing license plate or placard as provided by law.
(3) In addition to the penalty for the violation of this division (A), any vehicle improperly parked in violation of this division (A) may be towed (G.S. §§ 20-37.6(f) and G.S. 20-161(d)). Removal and disposition shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by G.S. § 160A-303.
(4) The following spaces are to be properly identified as being reserved for handicapped persons.
