The chief of police shall have lines or markings painted upon the curb or street designating the parking space and each vehicle shall park within said lines or markings. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle across any such line or marking, or park a vehicle in such a position that it shall not be entirely within the space designated by such lines or markings.
