6-2-1: DEFINITION:
In construing the provisions of this chapter, save when otherwise plainly declared or clearly apparent from the contents, the following definitions shall be applied:
AIR RAID ALARM AND BLACKOUT WARNINGS: A series of short intermittent blasts of sirens or whistles, or both, for a duration of two (2) minutes. Air raid alarm and blackout warnings shall also include the entire period of time between the alarm signal and all clear signal.
ALL CLEAR SIGNAL: A continuous blast of siren or whistles, or both, for a duration of one minute.
BLACKOUT: That period beginning immediately upon the sounding of any air raid alarm and blackout warning during the nighttime and continuing until the all clear signal is given, then continuing until "daytime" as herein defined.
DAYTIME: That period beginning at the time of sunrise and ending at the time of sunset.
NIGHTTIME: The period beginning at the time of sunset and ending at the time of sunrise.
VEHICLE: Every device in, upon, or by which any person or property is or may be transported, propelled or drawn upon or over any street, alley, highway or ground. (1961 Code)
