A. The operator of a tourist home is required to obtain a short term rental operator permit and a municipal nonproperty tax permit from the city, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter and title 1, chapter 17 of this code respectively, before renting any privately owned residential dwelling to any person for a period less than a monthly basis.
B. A short term rental operator permit shall be required to be renewed on an annual basis. All such permits shall expire on September 30, and a new permit shall be required to be purchased on or before October 1 in order for the continued operation of a tourist home to remain valid.
C. Those tourist homes which are authorized to operate, and in operation at the time this chapter goes into effect shall be required to obtain a short term rental operator permit and a municipal nonproperty tax permit, however the initial application fee shall be waived for 2015. Owners of existing authorized tourist homes shall still be required to pay the renewal fee. (Ord. 581, 5-11-2016)
