The planning and zoning commission shall be responsible for carrying out duties assigned by titles 11, "Land Use Regulations" and 12, "Subdivisions", of this code in the manner directed by state law and provisions of this code, and other duties as may be assigned by the mayor and city council pertaining to land use, planning and development. The city clerk shall approve and designate a recording secretary to create and maintain records for the commission.
A. Additional Duties Of The Commission:
1. Make studies and recommend to the council plans, goals, and objectives relating to the growth, development, and redevelopment of the city and the area of city impact.
2. Develop and recommend to the council policies, ordinances, administrative procedures, and other means for effective planning.
3. Make recommendations to the council concerning proposed changes to title 11 of this code, the zoning map, and any other ordinances regarding land use. (Ord. 561, 7-10-2013)
