In addition to any other penalties imposed by this chapter, the Clerk/Treasurer is authorized, directed and empowered to collect all license fees, charges, and penalties imposed by this chapter which are not paid when due, and/or to enforce all other provisions of this chapter, by a civil action at law, or by other appropriate proceedings, in any court of competent jurisdiction in the name of the village from any owner of a vehicle used for the transportation of persons or property for hire, or any other person who is liable to provide the required information and/or pay the fees, charges, and penalties imposed by this chapter. If any legal action is taken pursuant to this section, the village shall be entitled to recover the cost of such legal action from the person responsible, including reasonable attorney fees.
