§ 71.16 PROHIBITION AGAINST PERMITTING MINOR TO OPERATE VEHICLE.
   (A)   No person shall cause or knowingly permit any minor to drive a motor vehicle upon a highway as an operator, unless the minor has first obtained a license or permit to drive a motor vehicle under R.C. Chapter 4507.
   (B)   Whoever violates this section shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor. If within six years of the offense, the offender has been convicted of or pleaded guilty to one or more violations of this section, or R.C. 4507.31, a municipal ordinance relating to prohibiting a minor to operate a motor vehicle, the offender shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
