(A) Members of the Emergency Medical Services Team (emergency medical technicians), shall be paid for their attendance and participation at each EMS unit run. This fee shall be set by ordinance from time to time. Others who voluntarily appear on the scene will be welcome to assist and learn, but will not qualify for the EMS unit run fee as set forth above.
(B) The EMS MANAGER is defined as the person in charge of the EMTs scheduled and in attendance on the run. The EMS Manager shall direct all EMS activity on each run, including all EMTs who are called to the scene for additional assistance or who voluntarily appear to assist and learn.
(C) The EMS Manager will be responsible for scheduling training, coordinating the run schedule, inventory, and ordering supplies and equipment, keeping the equipment, including the ambulances, in readiness for emergency calls, and other duties as required by the Medical Director.
(D) The Designated Squad Leader is the person in charge in the absence of the EMS Manager. Duties of the Designated Squad Leader will include, but not be limited to, carrying the EMS phone and responding to calls 24 hours a day, including clinic calls; scheduling personnel for squad runs, as needed, and responding to spread runs. The Designated Squad Leader will be chosen by the EMS Manger. The Designated Squad Leader will receive $25 a day for these responsibilities. This amount will not include squad runs.
(E) Compensation for the EMS Unit.
EMT Runs: $25 will be paid per run for each EMT scheduled or that participates in the patient care per the EMS Manager or Designated Squad Leader. An additional $10 per run for the two EMTs transporting by ferry boat.
TRAINING: $25 per day or event.
MEETINGS: $10 per meeting.
DRIVER: DRIVER is defined as someone not an EMT. $15 per call.
EMT responsible for submitting report. $25 per report.
