§ 37.02 FEES FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE.
   (A)   During the effective term of the agreement between St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio and the village, each person receiving emergency medical service from the paramedic employed by the Center, shall be billed directly from the Center, based upon the fee schedule established by the Center for the services rendered. If the person requires transportation to the mainland after being treated by the paramedic, and the patient has been transferred to the Marblehead ambulance, the Clerk shall send a letter to the patient or responsible party, informing them of the Marblehead transfer fee that the village has agreed to pay the Village of Marblehead, and requesting a donation in the same dollar amount as the village’s transfer fee, as a reimbursement to the village, in addition to any fees for Emergency Medical Service charged and collected by the Center. Furthermore, any and all outstanding EMS billings prior to and from the effective date of the contract between St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and the village shall be forgiven as of the effective date of this section.
   (B)   In the event the paramedic is unavailable and a person is treated only by village EMT’s, the village shall not bill for the EMT’s services. However, if the person requires transportation to the mainland after being treated by the village EMTs, and the patient has been transferred to the Marblehead ambulance, the Clerk shall send a letter to the patient or responsible party, informing them of the Marblehead transfer fee that the village has agreed to pay the Village of Marblehead, and requesting a donation in the same dollar amount as the transfer fee, as a reimbursement to the village.
