§ 174.22 EXOTIC ANIMALS.
   (A)   Exotic animals within the village. Except as otherwise provided in this subchapter, no person shall keep within the village any exotic animal.
   (B)   Exceptions. If a person shall apply to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) for a permit to keep a wild animal, such as deer, raccoon, skunk, fox, squirrel and said permit be granted, then that person may apply to the Village Board for a variance permit to allow the keeping of such animal. No such permit will be granted without the village first being shown an approved IDNR permit and a certification of a licensed veterinarian that such animal is healthy and current on all required vaccinations, including rabies, when required.
